I found my passion for horses 27 years ago. While nurturing this passion, I was able to experience the healing power of the equine experience while developing an interest in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I am certified by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). I am also a Natural Lifemanship practitioner. I've enjoyed facilitating equine therapy through the juvenile justice system, members of the military through the Wounded Warrior Project, and clients with substance abuse issues.

Therapies Offered
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a therapeutic approach that uses horses to facilitate emotional healing and personal growth. Every equine is unique just like humans with their own personalities and opinions. Horses have no agenda and are completely honest leading to increased openness of their partner.
EAP focuses on nonverbal communication, as horses are highly attuned to human body language and energy, encouraging clients to become more in tune with their own feelings and behaviors. This approach is especially effective for enhancing communication, building self-confidence, setting boundaries, and fostering emotional resilience. Through hands-on activities and real-time experiences with the horses, clients often gain deeper insights and achieve breakthroughs that otherwise may not come as quickly into awareness in a traditional talk therapy session.

Sand Tray Therapy
Sand Tray Therapy is a therapeutic technique where clients use miniature figures and objects to create scenes in a sand tray, helping them express feelings, process trauma, or explore personal narratives. It allows for nonverbal expression, making it particularly effective for children or those who find it difficult to talk about their emotions to explore their internal world.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that uses calming eye movements and imagery techniques to help individuals quickly process and move past traumatic experiences. It is not hypnosis, and clients remain in control throughout the process. ART is especially effective for PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related conditions. A unique feature of ART is that clients can resolve distress without having to share the details of their trauma, using a technique called Voluntary Memory/Image Replacement to reduce emotional and physical triggers. The participant is able to gain awareness and insight that emboldens the participate to change thoughts and behaviors.

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is a relationship-based therapy that supports healing and growth in the bond between a young child and their caregiver. Rather than focusing on the child alone, the therapist works with both, helping the caregiver understand their own emotional responses and past experiences to support healthier parenting. CPP can begin during pregnancy or infancy and aims to strengthen attachment, emotional regulation, resilience, and early development in the child.

Internal Faimly Systems Therapy (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps people understand and heal their inner world by viewing the mind as made up of different "parts" or sub-personalities. Under this model, there are no “bad” parts and that healing comes from accessing the compassionate, wise "Self" within. The goal of IFS is to help you build a trusting relationship with your parts, unburden painful emotions, and restore internal balance.

Adlerian Therapy
Adlerian therapy is a psychological approach that emphasizes the role of social connection, personal growth, and life goals in shaping behavior. Developed by Alfred Adler, it emphasizes the importance of social interest, community, and striving for personal growth. Adlerian therapy helps individuals overcome feelings of inferiority, gain insight into their behaviors, and work toward positive change by fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
